Kris has carried the family a long, long way. But at 59, Kim feels she's taken the Kards as far as she can, and it's time for a little regime change.
“Kim is urging her mom to retire!” an insider claims, adding that, “Kim has always dreamed of herself taking Kris' place at the head of the family."
Especially with the business-savvy help of her husband, Kanye West, Kim feels she's more than capable of leading the juggernaut going forward.
“She wants Kanye to call all the shots with her, from [Keeping Up with the Kardashians] plot lines to business and endorsement deals,” the source says.
Understandably, Kris may not share the same vision.
"Kim’s told her mom it should be like a royal abdication, that she shouldn’t wait too long before passing over the power,” says the insider.
"She says there’s still so much money-making potential with the family, but it's so huge already, managing it all is a young woman’s job.”
We doubt Kris will cede the throne easily, but if she's looking for an heiress, Kim does seem like the logical choice, as the family cash cow.
Beyond that, Khloe's a mess, Kourtney would rather take her kids to the farmer's market, Kendall's branching out on her own and Rob is ... Rob.
While the inevitable Kylie Jenner s*x tape stands to make tens of millions, the newly-legal celebrity is still too green to manage that kind of green.
Who better to learn from than Kim, the sex tape queen herself? Exactly. Seems like a pretty straightforward line of successful to us.
