More revelations about the budget.
The outgoing SP Bukola Saraki used the budget Appropriations Committee to buy loyalty by letting Senators get constituency projects as high as N2b each. Led by Senator Danjuma Goje, one of his closest allies and loyalists. He was deliberately absent from the Senate yesterday because members knew he lied about the budget.
The Appropriations Committee jerked up the oil price benchmark to enable them add their projects.
The main reason most of the senators support SP Bukola Saraki is simply patronage, he gave most Committee chairmen at the senate N250m + N1.7b in "Special Projects" embedded in the budget plus Sitting Allowance
Imagine,Senator Sonni Ogbuoji representing Ebonyi South, who is the Vice Chairman NIgeria senate on Appropriations Committee told Senators yesterday that he did not see the budget before it was passed..
This is another chapter of shame,incompetence. First, they forged standing rules. Now, they're on our budget. Evil lawmakers without sense.
This is worse than Helm street!
And as two elephants continue their fight, the grass (Nigerians)suffers more and more.
