A man who wore a bullet-proof vest every day because he feared his life was in danger has been found murdered in Irish woodlands.
Philip Finnegan, from Dublin, Ireland, was found in a shallow grave covered by undergrowth in the remote Rahin Wood, Co. Kildare, by walkers at around 8.45pm on Friday.
An attempt had been made to set the body on fire and Mr Finnegan’s clothes were charred. Local gardai have launched a murder investigation.
It is believed the 24-year-old, who was last seen on August 10, had links to organised crime, and now gardaĆ believe he could have been killed in a row over money.
It appears that he was killed at the scene, but it is not known if he was abducted or lured to the isolated spot.
