Liverpool set to unveil new logo in April to celebrate 125th anniversary

The new badge will be officially revealed by Liverpool in April, when next season's kit design is unveiled.

However football website Joe have released a leaked version of how the crest will look, with the retro Reds badge donning the New Balance strip.

The website tweeted a teaser image of the classy new crest on Friday, with an image of the new-look home kit for next season. A 'darker red' to hark back to the early playing days of the Anfield club.

Liverpool historian Stephen Done told the club's website: 'It's perhaps not widely known that Liverpool FC's founding father and first president, John Houlding, was originally president of Everton but, after a huge fall out over a number of issues including rent, he was removed from his position.
