New Zealand hit with another earthquake after Wednesday 6.1 magnitude earthquake

New Zealand has been shaken by another earthquake, just a day after the country's centre was rattled by two massive quakes.

Just before 8.30pm Thursday night New Zealand was struck with a 2.7 magnitude earthquake about 15 kilometres south-east of Seddon.

The earthquake was 15 kilometres in depth and was described as 'weak' by GeoNet

It comes just a day after two huge earthquakes shook the centre of the country.

On Wednesday, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck southwest of Invercargill which was followed by a 5.1 magnitude quake northeast of Seddon.
