Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock originally planned mass shooting for Muse and Lorde headlined Life Is Beautiful festival reports reveales

Stephen Paddock smuggled 23 weapons into the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas while the Route 91 Harvest country music festival was on.

The attack is the deadliest in American history, with at least 59 people killed and a further 527 injured.

It’s now reported that the 64 year old was planning on doing the attack a week earlier at a different festival.

Police sources have suggested to reporespond that Paddock was trying to book suites at The Ogden Hotel during the Life Is Beautiful open-air festival. However, he was unable to get the rooms he requested.

Muse, Chance The Rapper, Lorde and Blink 182 performed at the event.

Life is Beautiful CEO Justin Weniger said: "The Life is Beautiful Festival family is devastated by the horrific events that took place on Oct. 1 in our hometown of Las Vegas.

"We will overcome the hate and the divisiveness together. We will lean on each other to move forward and to create a world in which love is the only option.”
