Chelsea are flying high in the Premier League after three wins a in a row and have what it takes to win the title under the management of Italian boss Antonio Conte.
The former Juventus manager splashed the cash in the summer transfer window to sign big money players like Michy Batshuayi, N’Golo Kante and David Luiz to improve his strike-force, midfield and the back line respectively.
However, Conte is still looking to amplify the quality of his defense because Luiz was mainly his second choice.
He wanted Antonio Rudiger from AS Roma but the German international suffered an injury right before the European Championships and Chelsea dropped their interest.
Now, according to Daily Mail, Chelsea are ready to seal the signing of Rudiger in a deal worth 35 million pounds ($42.5million) in the winter transfer window.
The 23-year-old star is mainly a central defender who can also play effectively int eh right back position. Last season, Rudiger featured in 30 league games for the Serie A side and scored 2 goals.
