Bayern Munich's Renato Sanches has been awarded the European Golden Boy award, following in the footsteps of Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero.
The 19-year-old is to be handed a trophy at a Monte Carlo ceremony after beating Manchester United youngster Marcus Rashford to the prize. Bayern's Kingsley Coman and AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma were other contenders.
Sanches was selected following a vote by journalists from 30 newspapers across Europe to name the best player in 2016 under the age of 21.
