The right-back star celebrated his 30th birthday and revealed on his Instagram account that a full two weeks after the big day, he still can not bring himself around to the thought of cutting into the personalised cake.
His cake is an accurate depiction of the Premier League trophy he lifted in May and comes complete with a iced caricature of Simpson in the middle of it. Being a full-time athlete, it is probably for the best that he kept it intact.
