The 27-year-old phoned his mobile phone and it was turned off which sealed the deal in her mind that her brother, who lived seven miles away but who she seldom saw, was dead.
The Hindustan Times reported Rajo and a dozen other family members turned up to Lalgarh police station to claim the body. Mahavir Singh, head constable at Lalgarh police station, said: ‘Several relatives of the woman who came with her had also identified the body.
Also, some public representatives too had come. ‘The body had been found hanging from a tree in Dalianwali village under Lalgarh police station area on Saturday.
During the post-cremation family gathering one of Kaluram’s relatives phoned his number on the off chance he would find some clues about his death. To everyone’s amazement the presumed dead man answered the phone, he had gone to visit someone and his phone battery had died.
He was told to get to his sister’s house as quickly as possible and arrived there at 5pm to wild cheers and bewilderment. Police confirmed Ms Devi had admitted she had identified the wrong body and they were now again trying to identify the dead man.
