Photos: Meet the oldest boxing champ set to drop his gloves at age 52 years

If it was football a testimonial match would be played for the oldest man ever to win a major honour. In boxing there is no such animal as a friendly.

So when Bernard Hopkins brings down the curtain on a career of extraordinary longevity this Saturday night he will do so in a full-blooded fight at an age, just one month short of his 52nd birthday, when most Americans are collecting their bus pass.
